About Scarlett

I love so much about this little girl! She will be 6 months old next week and I can hardly believe it!
Scarlett radiates joy. She literally smiles all day(except when teething, but she even tries then). She is all grins immediately upon waking and being put down for a nap, and anytime ANYbody makes eye contact with her, most definitely if it is coupled with sweet talk. She likes to watch stuffed animals dance (who isn't a fan of inanimate objects coming to life?), loves being tickled and action-oriented singing and touching. She loves to be surrounded by her family, especially Milla. She laughs and plays hardest with big sister. Currently, their favorite thing to do is copy one another. Scarlett starts with long squeals and drawn out long 'o' sounds, then Milla imitates....to a T. If my eyes were closed I don't believe I could distinguish between the two. Then Scarlett bubbles at the mouth, then Milla and they go on like this for several minutes with lots of giggling in between. Milla constantly showers her with hugs and kisses and says, "you're my sweet babeeeeee!", "I love you, little angel!", "It's okay Scarlett, Mommy will get you.", etc. My hope is that they will be life-long friends that always treat each other so dearly:)
I haven't had much mommy and Scarlett time alone without Milla, but last weekend I took her to Central Market with me and LOVED every minute of it. She was cuddled up next to my chest in the ErgoBaby and I was reminded just how priceless that feeling is....I must have kissed her little head ten thousand times!
Like Milla, Scarlett is an observer. She watches our every move, and although she possesses a strong desire to be mobile, she gets frustrated with that challenge and calls for help when she has had enough. Scarlett is very confident and self-regulated. She respects when she is tired and hungry and calmly asks for her naps and feedings through quiet, observable cues. She can't stand the pain of teething and screams inconsolably for comfort until I cuddle or nurse her. She is sensitive to change and can only fall asleep comfortably without fuss in her bassinet(attached to our bed). She will fall asleep in her car seat if necessary, but does not do well with other napping areas around the house.
I think Scarlett will be taller than Milla, maybe 5'10" to Milla's 5'9". She has long limbs and is at the top of the charts for height. She is wearing size 12 month because she needs it in the length. She takes 3 short naps during the day but sleeps from 7:30/8pm to 6:30/7am with 1-2 night feedings.
I can not imagine life without this little beauty. I often say Scarlett is the reason our family works. One look at her and your stress takes a backseat, your sadness floats away, your anger, worries, anxieties, etc fizzle out. She has a magical way of making Milla forget(not that she really knew) why she was choosing to be pouty, defiant, or just plain moody. She keeps us all in check with reality and what unconditional love, family and life is all about.
These are just some of the things I love about this precious child.
